Hi, I’m Jessika Rutledge (she/her/hers), a bi-racial female licensed in the state of Florida. I’ve been working in the mental health field for over a decade in various capacities, and along the way, I’ve expanded my expertise as a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional and a Qualified Supervisor, empowering and supporting the professional development of other clinicians.
I began my career as a rehabilitation therapist, serving elderly individuals with developmental disabilities in both community and institutional settings. I later transitioned into behavioral health, where I assessed and developed behavioral modification and management plans for adults and children with Autism and other behavioral disorders. As my passion for helping people deepened, I focused on Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy. My experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, crisis response, at-risk youth, family court mediations, substance abuse (both abstinence and harm reduction), and domestic violence has provided me with a wide array of skills to meet the unique needs of my clients.
I’m a single mother of a little boy and two fur babies—15-year-old Juicy and 2-year-old Brown Boy Joy. In my free time, I enjoy reading, poetry, writing, movies, spending time with family, and practicing self-care. I am passionate about self-love, emotional independence, communication, and all aspects of intimacy. I honor relationships and, more importantly, value the relationship we have with ourselves. I take a direct yet compassionate approach to therapy, believing that clients are the masters of their own lives. My role as a therapist is to ask the right questions—not give the “right” answers. My goal is to equip each client with healthy tools and adaptive behaviors that promote change and a life worth living.
I love working with individuals, families, and couples who are ready to do the work and improve their lives. I strive to support clients as they heal from past hurts, intergenerational trauma, and societal pressures by addressing restrictive core beliefs that shape behavior, self-image, and relationships. I provide a safe, judgment-free environment that fosters transparency, vulnerability, empowerment, cultural appreciation, and validation.
Through my work, I’ve learned that offering compassion and a listening ear to someone struggling with their mental, emotional, spiritual, or physical health can be incredibly powerful. It is my mission to break the stigma around mental illness and wellness within diverse populations through education and self-awareness. For so long, you may have worn the mask that everything is okay. Taking the first step to change your reality is courageous. Together, we can create a new outlook on life that guides you toward becoming the best version of yourself. By increasing awareness of our own attitudes and beliefs, and reducing the bias and negative assumptions around seeking help, we can bring about meaningful change together.
I look forward to our work together.
